In some cases, both black and white and color are even suitable. It’s certainly not possible to generalize, because for each photo different post-production is suitable. It is not easy to say when black and white and when color is better. Comparison of Color and Black & White Photos Variants of light direction in black and white photography (Basic photography by Langford, Michael John). And this is true whether I’m shooting in my home studio or outside in nature. Light also plays a major role in my photographs and I pay deserved attention to it when taking pictures. And it doesn’t matter at all whether you’re shooting a portrait, a landscape or a rock as in the picture below. The light falling on the subject is absolutely essential in photography and in black and white in particular. I focus more on the lights and shadows and the story that the photo is trying to tell. The colors are gone, the tables are not brown, the picture is no longer colored. And now the same with the camera in monochrome mode. Everything is colorful, contrasting, and very pleasing to the eye. The first thing you will see is 10 people in different colored clothes. If I pull out the camera and take a photo, it will look really nice. I’m sitting in the corner of Starbucks right now. Photographer Siddhant Marar very nicely described how the black and white design changes the perception of photography (this is not a quotation but an approximate interpretation of his words):
